Covap quadruples its cheeses sales

The sales volume of the cheese production of Cooperativa del Valle de los Pedroches (Covap) has been quadrupled since the beginning of its activity in 2002 and keeps growing at a sustained rate with am increase of its turnover by 25% each year.

 

Sources from the cooperative, whose headquarters are in Pozoblanco (Córdoba) but with partners in other places in Andalucía, Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha pointed out that a growing presence of its different varieties of cheeses has been obtained thanks to the knowledge of the cattle breeder partners, to its productions quality, to its good practices in making cheeses and to the value of the Covap brand.

 

The company started business in 2002 with the sale of 88,000 kg of different types of cheese that year and hopes to end 2006 with the sale of 350,000 kg of cheese.

 

The agri-food company currently produces cheeses in its cheese industry present in Castilseras, owned by Almadén (Ciudad Real) and from the board of directors the possible extension of the industry is considered in order to satisfy a growing market demand for these products.
